I am starting this painting. I did fewsketches, but did minimal drawing
on the painting. I am sketching more
with the paintbrush. I am paying attention to the shapes within the body. I plan to do this bug again with a different view of his body. Eventually I will dig up the bug book and identify this one
I think your work is beautiful. The brush strokes are soft and pleasing to look at. I love specially the dog painting work and the bug is coming out awsome too. Keep up the good work.

it looks like a cicada, you might try looking there first for a positive ID...but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteI like your bug so far. My favorite watercolors are Winslow Homer's Bahamas series of paintings. Am thinking of getting into doing watercolors myself and your work is encouraging/inspiring.
