I am a watercolor artist. My paintings are bold, full of color and texture. Most of my work takes time. I paint realistically, but also uses abstract in the backgrounds. Working deliberately and slow in the beginning, I then burst forth with extermination and looseness to fill up the paper. Stepping back I evaluated, and somehow pull everything together in the end.
I paint from the world around me. Each piece has a story. I like a painting to be strong enough in composition to be appealing for a distance, but when viewed up close I want my viewer to enjoy the detail.
Water color has so many attitudes and possibilities. I like to play with all of them, and will not ever get bored.
I have recently changed my primary residence to Naples, Florida. Although I have been in the area for decades and have sold work here, I need to established as a working artist, and become part of the artist community in Naples.
Nesting has taken up much of my time over the last year. Now it is time to get seriously back to work.
